Prague Cable Car

OPS and Grimshaw Architects were finalists in a competition to develop architectural designs for three stations and five supports for a cable car ropeway in Prague.

The stations were designed to be adaptable in use, beyond the design life of the ropeway, and intergrate with future infrastructure in a way which creates new public spaces.

The CLT and Glulam timber dominated scheme uses Czech Spruce, intended manufactured across the border in Germany or Austria and references the vernacular roofscape across Prague and the Vlatava river.
