Stockport Interchange Cycle Ramp
OPS provided the structural design for a 190m long spiral cycle ramp, the centrepiece of a new transport interchange facility, associated green space and a mixed use residential development within Stockport town centre.
Overlooked by the historic Stockport Viaduct, the ramp is supported by a series of dramatic, inclined cantilevering weathering steel columns and forms part of a walking and cycling link to the railway station.
Consulted by Willmot Dixon, OPS provided element and connection design, as well as consultancy regarding assembly and lifting.
OPS also delivered the design for a 39m span footbridge as part of the development, which can be read about here.
