Structural BIM Technician
OPS has an exciting opportunity for a Structural BIM/REVIT Technician to work on high-profile projects within our expanding structures team in London (Farringdon).
We are looking to build upon our already successful, award winning and forward-thinking structures team. Candidates' are expected to contribute to the development and execution of cutting edge design, working on projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Successful candidates' will have experience in the preparation of structural 3D models and subsequent drawing output using Autodesk Revit Structures, as well as model collaboration and complying with company CAD/BIM Standards.
You will be involved in implementing and developing BIM capabilities within the Design & Engineering team, working closely with engineers at all levels on a broad range of major projects.
Requirements
Significant experience working as a structural BIM technician
Expertise in both AutoCAD and REVIT structures is essential.
Broad range of civil and structural engineering experience
Understanding of BIM and its direction within the industry
Understanding of PAS 1192 & BS EN ISO 19650
Experience of reinforced concrete and steel detailing
Preferably hold a minimum HNC qualification in Structural/Civil Engineering
Experience of producing structural engineering drawings on multi-disciplinary projects
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to self-check and check others work
Able to produce quality work to a high standard
Compliance with CAD/BIM standards & Quality Assurance
Be reliable and show initiative
Experience with specialist software packages including Rhino, Grasshopper, Solibri, Enscape or Navisworks, is desirable but not essential
Responsibilities
Generation of 3D structural models using Revit Structures software (Rhino & Grasshopper would be beneficial)
Preparation of drawings extracted from the 3D model
Preparation of engineering drawings using AutoCAD
Support the BIM Manager in implementing BIM within the Structures team
Report to peers regarding day to day management of the CAD team
Ensure compliance with corporate and project CAD/BIM Standards
Adherence to company Quality Procedures
Manage own workload to ensure accurate deliverable output to specified deadlines
Supervise and mentor junior CAD technicians or apprentices if required
Ensure full records of incoming/outgoing project and issued information are maintained
