Wembley Stadium – Client Advisor

Mike Otlet has been working with our Client WNSL at the stadium for over 10 years. Initially, Mike assisted with design and construction reviews in order to achieve practical completion in 2007.

Following on from 2007, Mike, Simon and Lindsey have been involved in re-appraisals of the as-built structures, including building movements and dynamic monitoring of the performance of the stadium during major events. We are currently assisting with day to day operations and maintenance of the stadium as well as internal refurbishment works and operation of the moving roof in the long and short term.

Wembley Stadium – West Stage Hydraulic Seating Terrace

Completed in 2013, Wembley’s West Stage lifting seating, designed by Mike and Lindsey, has enabled the stadium to accommodate larger and more elaborate stages for touring artists and festivals during the summer months.

The 2000 seat terracing is split into 9 discreet panels which are able to be individually lowered and lifted using hydraulic rams to a near vertical position, enabling stages to be recessed further back into the seating bowl.

The demolition of the existing terrace and building of the new lifting structures took place over a short 54 day construction period through Christmas of 2012, under the pressures of a strict deadline and was successfully completed in time for a full bowl event at the beginning of February 2013.
