How we work

Our approach to projects is always to be proactive and collaborate with the team with an aim to produce an appropriate structural solution that is integrated with the architecture and services. Our motivation in all our projects is to design efficient, elegant structures that embrace technology and consider all aspects including fabrication, manufacturing and construction.

OPS embrace the opportunities that new technologies can offer but without abandoning the simple principals of engineering, understanding the materials and thinking about how things are manufactured, constructed, and maintained.

This extends to the design process where pen and layout paper is used to explore ideas and design details before committing to electronic media. This often results in an efficient way to evolve design with the team, sometimes with unexpectedly favorable results.

Knowledge and Learning

We understand the importance of knowledge, we are part of the knowledge economy and make our living by thinking. To assist in developing this economy we are closely involved with several universities and Institutions, passing on some of our knowledge and experience and in return, tapping into their testing and research capabilities.

Software

We have a suite of software available to assist in the design process and for drawing production using BIM, 3D CAD, 3D structural analysis and design.

CAD: REVIT, AutoCAD, Rhino

Analysis: Robot, StaadPro, ETABS, Oasys GSA, CADS smart engineer and Microsoft Office.
