OPS Structures is looking to appoint an ambitious and talented Graduate Structural Design Engineer to work on high-profile projects within our expanding Structures team in Cirencester.

Skills Required:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Minimum 2:1)
  • Strong problem solving abilities and creativity
  • Ambition to work towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written. Able to present their technical work
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Good IT skills. A knowledge of design software packages such as Robot, Rhino, STAAD, GSA etc. are desirable but not essential as training will be given. Knowledge of basic packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. are expected
  • Relevant work experience is desirable but not essential


  • Undertaking structural engineering analysis and design under the supervision of a senior engineer
  • Design of small to medium sized projects or sections of larger projects so as to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme-including were necessary attendance at design teams meeting and workshops
  • Production of design calculations in accordance with relevant codes of practice
  • Gathering of information, carrying out surveys, research
  • Contribution towards specifications, tender/construction documents and reports
  • Supervising and providing assistance to student placements
  • Working with CAD Technicians to produce relevant structural information


Standard contract hours are 37.5 per week, 9.00am to 5.30pm
